Today was a big day in the life of Baby Bear. He does not
look like he has a lot of hair in these pictures but he was growing a strange little bang area and rat tail in the back. It was sort of like a very confused mullet. So, in Bear went for his first hair cut! This was a big deal for me (and a milestone in his life). My little baby getting a haircut makes him seem so big boyish. Oh no! He promised me to be my baby forever or at the very least let me live next door to him for the rest of his life (I am sure future wife will be less than thrilled to discover this arrangement). He was a total sport and did not mind at all. It helped that when we walked in the door his pals, the B Triplets: Rhett, Luke and John Charles, were running all over and playing so he was elated to see the big boys. From there he hopped in the chair and never made a peep. Gita, his hairdresser, said he had a "poker face" and he never even shed one little tear like a lot of babies. I am not sure I like my 13 month old being a potentially successful gambler in the future but glad he was a good little man for the big event! Thanks to Lauren and Ana who snapped a few pictures of me in the moment. I am usually just behind the camera. Joe could not make the milestone event (he held Fenley for his first haircut) so I was glad one parent was captured there. Bear looks extra smashing with his new 'do. Watch out ladies!

Bear is pretty confused about why he has a cape and is sitting in a monster truck |

All is well when holding a basket of suckers |

Looking good baby Bear! I was not able to get him to look at me because he was busy "driving" the truck |

Catalog Ready |

Probably not what Pottery Barn Kids had in mind for the medium basket |

Toys in the mouth and Baby in the basket. What would Gary and Elaine say!? |
Bear also took a few "catalog shots" yesterday for me as I am calling them. If you do not know me that well, then this may seem weird to you, but if you
do know me and my sense of humor, then you will get a kick out of this. For months now, my neighbor/friend Nesi (glad I can call her both) and I have been following this blog Catalog Living and laughing insanely at it.
Catalog Living follows a fictional couple, Gary and Elaine, as they mitigate life as a couple that lives in catalogs. I like to peruse catalogs but think all this "stuff" is just stuff and I never order any of it (despite my pictures of my hoarder-esque type areas of my newly de-cluttered home that could point to otherwise). If you follow Gary and Elaine and their blog you can even laugh harder and think wisely about how totally insane and odd catalogs
and their staging really are when you get right down to the psychology of it all.
Imagine Nesi's delight in telling me, Pottery Barn has actually spoofed Gary and Elaine with a nod to their comedic catalog-mocking genius by writing on the blackboard in Pottery Barn's new catalog. HYSTERICAL! The world has come full circle in my tiny world. :) I love this blog and it always makes me laugh when I need a quick chuckle. I was even more thrilled when Baby Bear decided to reinvent the use of the Pottery Barn Kids' basket. I think it deserves to be in a PBK catalog and a nod from Gary and Elaine.
Check out their blog for a good laugh!
